LITERACY CAMPAIGN

I was approached by Save the Children in 2014 about a shocking report revealing that Britain has one of the worst literacy problems in Europe. It showed that one in six adults could not read at standards set for 11-year-olds.

I devised a simple but effective campaign called Get Kids Reading. Its main aim was to encourage children to read for ten minutes a day.

David Walliams gave his support to the cause by agreeing to an in-depth interview and I travelled to Finland to find out why its education system is one of the best in the world. The campaign was well received and resulted in positive feedback from readers young and old.
